Christopher Chace, Class of 1997, was an outstanding athlete at Bartlett High School.

He participated in soccer and track and was a member of the National Honor Society.

In Soccer Chris earned five varsity letters, and was elected as captain his senior year. He was also selected to the Border Conference All-Star Team as a senior.

However, it is in track that Chris made his mark as the finest hurdler to come out of Bartlett. Chris first stepped onto the track his freshman year, but it was in his junior and senior years that Chris excelled in this sport.

In his junior year, Chris competed in the long jump where he was undefeated; 110 meter hurdles --once again undefeated-- and setting a school record; 300 meter hurdles again undefeated and set a school record; the high jump; and, once in the 100. At the Border Conference League Meet, Chris placed first in the long jump, 110 and 300 meter hurdles, and was selected as a Border Conference All-Star. At the District All-Class Meet, Chris placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles, qualifying him for the State Meet where he placed 12th.

Chris’ senior year on the track was sensational. He was entered into 40 events and placed first in 39. He once again set a school record in the 300 meter hurdles. His records in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles stand to this day. At the Border Conference League Meet, Chris placed first in the long jump, 100 meters and tied the meet record in the 300 hurdles. He once again was selected as a Border Conference All-Star.

At the District Class Meet, Chris won the long jump, and set a new District Class Meet record in winning the 300 hurdles. At the District All-Class Meet, Chris won the long jump and placed second in the 300 hurdles, once again qualifying him for the State Meet. At the State Meet Chris placed 7th in the long jump.

In his last two years of track at Bartlett, Chris competed in 68 events and placed first in 65 of them for a winning percentage of 95.588%.

Without a doubt, Chris Chace is one of the finest track athletes to ever wear the Green and White of Bartlett High School
